Will you please post a video on how to get the bobbin into a 132k6 properly? Thank you🙏🏼
I am on the fence about the roller foot post bed clone as you have or a walking foot post bed. Have there been times this post bed had limited you when a walking foot post may have been handy. Salesmen say post beds with roller feet aren’t really designed for heavy stuff especially veg tanned. It seems these top and bottom feed are more popular than the triple feed post beds. Thanks in advance
I wouldn't have thought of cutting down the table. For my big Juki Industrial table, I set a domestic machine on the left side of the table getting double use out of it. When I need more work surface for a big project, I move the other machine. I have one of my more pretty vintage machines in a cabinet that I moved to the living room and it doubles as a desk. I think I am now totally out of space until my husband builds me a workshop.
That's a good idea
Which needle is this ?
I find that the system works better if you secure the leather to the work surface using a piece of double sided tape. Because if the leather moves you will lose your cutting line and it’s virtually impossible to get it back. Also be sure the blade is set deep enough to cut all the way through the leather; it’s best to make several passes with the blade rather than trying to get a full thickness cut with one pass.
Thank you. That was very helpful
Which needle is good for smaller hole size but long for bigger thickness of material aroun 2.5 inch thick
Thank you. Informative and right to the point. I'm thinking once the cover is made and installed, I might wet it all with a sponge to fore it to shrink and form-fit to the handle.
Yes that's a good idea Jim
Now a days you use thread condioner. In the grease/oil cup. Lowers the fuzz off the thread. In one of your videos you stated that the lower tension spring on the front of the machine is for winding bobbins. The manual states this extra tension spring on the front is for darning 😊
Thanks very much
You should consider making a pdf pattern to sell so we can make the same bag! Love this
Very nice bag. Love the details. The clasp is especially nice Handle is a nice detail too😊
Great bag, great video! Thanks Harry!
Thanks for watching!
It’s always worth the time spent watching your instruction Harry!

Thank you so much for video Your videos are very Crisp and up to the point ❤ Please make a video on thread size, its confusing as well
Hello, when I try to sharpen the blade, it runs a bit and then stops -the motor doesn’t work further … what could be the cause ? Thanks!
Hi is the clutch lever jumping out of its slot ? It does not hold in its slot very well on any of these machines, so that is a likely cause.
Hi sir love your work I'm beginning to make leather can you send me any easy shoe pattern size 41 ?
One of the best spinning tutorials that I have watched, thank you so much for being so efficient and informative in your delivery. I loved it, great for newbies like me. x
Thanks very much
The old fellow that first showed me how to do this threw dirt on the cuts.
I found that silk screening my boxes on my start up biz was a nightmare. looking into this
as i get older i become more and more keen on these endangered arts and manual labour work. we lost part of our humanity going digital (i say that as a web developer as well. the internet is my job) i dream of quitting and turning towards a much more analog life.
Hi Harry! Checking in to see how you're making out.
Thanks...keeping busy
Hi iv singer 119-2 .cud u tell me please if its possible to do reverse stitch on this machine.there is no handle or lever like other machine on this machine i have.
Hi best look for a manual on the ISMACS website or on the College Sewing Machines UK website...Good luck.
Great video😊
Thank you 😁
a good attempt! last making is not a exact science, the cone line up is important to get a symmetric pair of shoes , from your hand made shoe lasts , i like how you made the break in the last , your band saw could have put a little more flair in the break, but its great to see first timers try at home . its a one of investment , your last can be send to Asia , to make the shoe , as labour is cheaper here , around $80. dollars ,
Hi Harry. What type of needles are you using? Also i picked up a used machine without a motor or belts. What sort of belts fits this machine that could be used with a servo etc? Your instruction manual looks way more detailed than the one i found. Do you have a link? Many thanks. p.s i enjoyed your shoe making book
Hi Robert I probably got the manual off of the ISMACS website or from the College Sewing Machines UK site...sorry I can't remember the type of needles but College Sewing Machines UK should be able to help. The leather point needles often have a digit different.
I live in a circa 1650 semi farm labourer's cottage in Bedfordshire which has lots of exposed joists that some idiot painted matt black. Close inspection shows obvious nailing of lath and plaster ceilings. But in places the black is flaking off to show that the joists were lime-washed.There is an ancient lime works very close. I'm anxious to keep it as close to its origins as possible and wonder if any expert reading this can tell me if it is likely it started out with no ceilings? Possibly added as the population became more affluent.
I was born in the UK but live in the US now. I will always be fascinated by old Buildings and enjoyed seeing this house very much. I am glad it is still being taken care of. Thank you very much.
Glad you enjoyed it
Damn, i miss this bloke............
Nice work Harry. I'm glad to see you again.
Thanks
good work i am agabito from uganda
good
Saddlemaker Down Under here. I prefer the half knife aka head knife. Been using a Joseph Dixon half knife since mid 1980s, went to buy another and found Dixon is closed some years back. Let their quality go down hill towards the end. I use Blanchard and C S Osborne now. Pity Dixon was allowed to drop in quality, I have some excellent old Dixon, just bought a Thomas Dixon ploughgage which I pulled apart, cleaned up and it works beautifully, Did not have to sharpen it, which surprised me.
Yes shame about Dixons, George Barnsley of Sheffield is worth taking a look at.
Since a last looks nothing like a foot, I think I’ll tape my sock! While it’s on me, obviously! I’ve seen people make tailors dummy made from duck tape stuck on the person (whos covered in cling film, and then cut it off, and fill with foam to make a model of the person Same can work here.
What is the thread bolt size on the machine 1/4 NC bolt is not a tight fit, bit loose .I have a motor and bracket from the donor machine
Fosner splitter and mallot. Good choice, no power tools.
Just to say since my last comment a day ago ,I did some research and bought a cylindrical die cutting machine,I am at the moment trying to work out how to make the base for it.Thank you very much for your videos they are very enjoyable indeed!
Hello, your machine may be different but I mounted mine on a small workbench and bolted it down, for the cutting base to protect your cutter I used thick leather, and softer kitchen nylon cutting boards....Good luck with yours.
Thank you! Excellent video! Would you be kind enough to do a tutorial on how to make a die cutting machine a cylindrical one. Thank you very much indeed.
Great fun
"Read your manual" - Doesn't have his thread routed per the manual...

My wife was given a double drive wheel, we was just trying to find information on it, but we couldn't find much info but then my wife found ur video. Its the same wheel, id love to find out how she came from urself to us. She has lived many lives apparently.
Mine can't rotate
Do you think it's possible to sew a backpack with something like this?
Yes it would work fine, the stitching may not be the most refined but it is alright and if sewing leather you can hammer over the stitches to flatten them. If sewing for a business at scale you might want a more refined industrial sewing machine.
@@harryrogers Hey. Thanks for the advice. I’m just a potential hobbyist. I found one for auction. It’s probably going to be next to nothing to buy, but it will need maintenance. My aim is to sew nylon fabric. I have a feeling it will work out. If not, I suppose I can resell it.
Thanks for this exploration (I almost said tutorial). I've always dreaded trying something new. Not so much that I'll fail at trying but more that people will see me fail. Not sure where that kind of thinking comes from but it's not much help in life. So thanks for saying, "it's quite hard to actually try something else and it's very easy to get put off ." I find your willingness to try things provides an encouraging example. Hope all is going well.
Thanks very much

Charming fellow, and adore the smiles! Nice stitch work, too, mate
Unfortunately, guides never ever show the bathroom! I'd be nice to have an idea of what dwellers would've done when they had to go to the bathroom in the middle of a snowy winter at night!
Don't mind if I tell you, that blade is really not sharp, with a sharp blade you don't have to make such an effort, I have a JOK machine, J.Polland - Wien 1 Bakerstr 5/7 - the dates written on it, done in Austria, but I sharpened the blade with a Belgian stone, it cuts like a knife through butter, I don't have the courage to play with my hand like you played with yours, I had the bad idea to use my fingernail let me try the cutter, it cut my nail to the flesh, I can cut slices of only 1 mm without any problem, in addition, this machine has the advantage that it also has a steering wheel with a crank, and if you want to thin very thin, no you pull the leather but you turn the steering wheel, a real gem, I was lucky enough to buy it from someone who didn't really know what he was selling, 100 euros, yes! and the thinning is controlled by a special graduated device on the left side, where if you want to go graduated, it has a lever that you pull with an indicator at which level of cutting you are... if you find such a toy, I recommend it buy it, you won't regret it, Osborne is a small child next to this gem
